Racing Game Trailer

The reasons for picking this trailer "Need for Speed Rivals"

1. There are several versions of racing with various types of cars, which gives the excitement for the game play.

2. The major trait of this game has a combination of arcade and realism. This game's core is "Chasing" and "Competition". In the short trailer, the racers can use the weapon to beat the rivals and the cops are chasing the racer at the same time, depicting with quite realistic view.

3. Another thing is, the "Editing". At the first scene, on the start line, every cut juxtaposes by showing cops and racers. Thus the player can easily recognize the theme and two modes of the game playing.

4. Last but not least, I actually bought this product after watching this trailer.

WoW Token goes up and down

 

 

Blizzard Entertainment launched the "WoW Token" in the World of Warcraft. Tokens went on sale for 20 dollar. With the Tokens, players are able to list tem on the in game aution house, and the price is decided by a system tracking supply-and-demand. The company explained that it is hoping that allowing players to buy Tokens with real world money and then sell them for gold will more enjoyable game world.

Tokens allow players to subscribe to World of Warcraft without spending the money. Also, tokens combat third party gold sellers.

The price started at 30,000 gold and quickly increased, passing 31,000 gold on North American players, according to a Token sales. However, the price got down quickly as low as 20,370 gold, roughly 35 percent. Then, backed up to 27,000 gold just before steadily dropping to 24,195 gold.

The price goes from up and down.

 

Unreal Engine goes free!

 

Unreal decides to make Unreal Engine 4 free to use. This might be a significant step forward for independent software development. Epic game's recent decision to add a generous environmental asset pack to the free engine.

Unreal Engine 4 was made free to use in early March 2015, when Unreal gave up its longstanding subscription model. The Unreal Engine 4 users now instead pay a five percent royalty, which kicks in after the first in revenue for each quater of a projectis fiscal year. The certian areas such as consulting, architecture, simulation are exempt from this royalty.

Moreover, Epic Games has already made a free animation package available to Unreal Engine 4 users, as well as, a technical demo, "Scifi Hallway".

 

Expansion of the game engines in various field

 

The game engines, which are the tool for game development, expands to the field of edcation, architecture, environment, militery defense, and medical software development.

The reasons for the various usage of game engines are, the lightening and rendering is quite adequate for making virtual models or real architecture, the maps can be easily and promptly edited or modified. Also, the engine developers contemplate to add more fuctions for new business.

Most frequently used engine is Unity in architecture, the Sochi Olympics' 3D model was made by that. The 3D model included the infrastuructures like stadiums, hotels, and transportion to check before the constructions begin.

Emory University made an app with game engine for learning anatomy, which make students look over the 3D image of the liver and check the surgical reference images at the same time.
